Teens & Schools

At SOLVE, we believe in the power of young people to create positive change for our communities and the planet. We offer a platform for youth volunteers to connect, participate, learn, and lead in environmental initiatives that shape a better future.

Our Offerings

If you're looking for a meaningful way to contribute to your community, gain valuable experiences, and create positive change, then you're in the right place.

Plan a Cleanup

Lead your own cleanup with SOLVE’s support! Build leadership skills, earn service hours, and grow your resume. If you’re under 18, you’ll need a guardian, or trusted adult advisor to join you for orientation and your event—you lead the way, with adult backup!

Visit this page to learn more and sign up for a virtual orientation via Zoom or by request.

Educational Presentations

We’re always excited to share SOLVE’s mission and impact. When possible, presentations can be in person in the Portland Metro area or virtual elsewhere. Contact us to tailor the content to your group's age and learning focus.

Earn Service Hours & Build Your Resume

Need volunteer hours for school or want to boost your resume? SOLVE makes it easy to earn service hours while making a difference in your community. Join an event from our calendar and bring your school’s service form or download our community service log to get signed off at the event.

Art for Action

Art for Action is a youth program that combines environmental volunteerism with creative expression. Students learn about SOLVE, participate in a cleanup, and create art that inspires others to care for their community and environment.

Originally piloted in spring 2025 at Grant High School in Portland, Art for Action began with poster design, and the student work featured below is from that very first project. The program can be adapted to any creative medium.
