Central Eastside Beach & Riverside Cleanup with Subaru of Portland
Join SOLVE for our annual Beach & Riverside cleanup to beautify our city and keep our waterways clean. The first Beach & Riverside Cleanup took place in 1986, and this year’s projects mark decades of stewardship of Oregon’s waterways from source to sea! Since the event’s inception, more than 2.5 million pounds of litter and marine debris have been collected across Oregon. That is equal to the weight of six Boeing 747 airplanes. Last year, nearly 3,000 volunteers at 147 sites across Oregon resulted in approximately 50,000 pounds of litter and marine debris being collected and removed. Saturday, September 16th, is also International Coastal Cleanup Day and SOLVE is teaming up with the Ocean Conservancy Group to be a part of the worldwide effort to eliminate trash from our coastline. Come be a part of this amazing event and effort to clean our local waterfront! This event is in partnership with Subaru of Portland.
