Fred Meyer Johnson Creek-Pick It Up, Portland!

SOLVE is hosting a series of litter pickup events all along 82nd Avenue on June 23rd and 24th called Pick It Up, Portland! This two-day, city-wide event is focusing on litter removal throughout our community, presented by Pacific Power. Join us on Saturday June 24th at Fred Meyer to help make the streets and neighborhoods look a little nicer. This is a family friendly event open to volunteers of all ages. We hope to see you there!

Advanced Registration: Is required. Please sign up (green button below) ahead of time to guarantee your spot.

Meeting Location: Volunteers will be meeting in the Fred Meyer parking lot. Look for the SOLVE signs.

What to Bring: Volunteers are encouraged to bring any personal supplies that will help our resources go further such as garbage bags, work gloves, buckets, trash grabbers, etc. If you bring personal belongings wear a backpack so that you can pick up trash hands free. Wear closed-toed shoes and dress for the weather. Bring a rain jacket if the forecast calls for rain and wear sunscreen and a hat if it is sunny. This event will go on rain or shine. And it is also recommended that volunteers bring a re-usable water bottle to stay hydrated during the event.

What's Provided: SOLVE will provide trash grabbers, trash bags, work gloves, and high-vis vests.

Restrooms: No public restrooms are available

Parking: Parking is available in the Fred Meyer parking lot.

Transit: Trimet #72 bus stops nearby; get off at the SE 82nd and Lindy stop and walk 15 feet to the meeting spot. The MAX Green Line also stops nearby; get off at the SE Fuller station and walk 13 minutes to the meeting spot.

Accessibility: This area is accessible for folks with mobility concerns.

Translation Services: There will not be a Spanish speaker present at this event.

Youth Volunteers: Volunteers 13 and under must be accompanied by an authorized adult.
