Eastport Plaza - Pick It Up, Portland!

Join SOLVE and community volunteers at Eastport Plaza for this year's Pick It Up, Portland! This is a 2-day event that we host every year to try and make as big an impact as possible throughout the city picking up trash. This year we are hosting 15 events along a 7.5 mile stretch of 82nd Avenue. We feel that centralizing our focus on a single street will make an even bigger impact on the area. This will be a family-friendly event suitable for volunteers of all ages. We hope to see you there!

Advanced Registration: Is highly suggested but not required. Please sign up (green button below) ahead of time to guarantee your spot.

Meeting Location: Volunteers will meet in the Eastport Plaza parking lot outside of Izzy's (parking lot between SE Francis st. and SE Bush st., just east of the Burger King on 82nd).

What to Bring: If you bring personal belongings, please bring a backpack so you can pick up trash hands-free. Volunteers are encouraged to bring any personal supplies that will help our resources go further such as garbage bags, work gloves, buckets, trash grabbers, etc. Wear closed-toed shoes and dress for the weather. Bring a rain jacket if the forecast calls for rain and wear sunscreen and a hat if it is sunny. And it is also recommended that volunteers bring a re-usable water bottle to stay hydrated during the event.

What's Provided: SOLVE will provide trash grabbers, trash bags, work gloves, and high-vis vests.

Restrooms: No public restrooms are available

Parking: Free off-street parking is available, thanks to Eastport Plaza! Park in any open spot near the meeting location outside Izzy's in Eastport Plaza.

Transit: Bus #72 stops at SE 82nd and SE Francis and SE 82nd and SE Rhone. Both #72 stops are about a 6-minute walk to the event meeting location. Bus #9 stops at SE 84th and SE Powell, about an 8-minute walk to the meeting location.

Accessibility: This area is accessible for folks with mobility concerns.

Translation Services: There will not be a Spanish speaker present at this event.

Youth Volunteers: Volunteers 13 and under must be accompanied by an authorized adult.
