Urgent Need Neighborhood Cleanup: Springwater Corridor

Join SOLVE for a cleanup in an urgent need area. SOLVE defines an urgent need cleanup as an area with a high concentration of litter that poses a threat to public safety and environmental quality due to the presence of hazardous materials. Safety guidelines will be covered before the event begins.

During this cleanup, you will work with SOLVE staff in small groups to clean up trash along the Springwater Corridor trail. This event will be a collaboration with the Portland outreach organization, Dinner & A Movie, whose focus is on building holistic relationships with Portland's houseless community. 

When: Wednesday, October 26; Wednesday, November 16; Wednesday, December 14; Wednesday, January 25; Wednesday, February 15; Wednesday, March 22; Wednesday, April 19; Wednesday, May 17; Wednesday, June 21; 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. 

Advanced Registration Required: Pre-registration is required! Please sign up (green button below) ahead of time to guarantee your spot.

Meeting Location: Volunteers will be meeting close to the intersection of SE 92nd and the Springwater Corridor trailhead.

What to Bring: Come wearing sturdy work boots, if you bring personal belongings please bring a backpack so you can pick up trash hands-free. Dress for the weather. This event will happen rain or shine so please bring a water-proof jacket if the forecast calls for rain. 

COVID Safety: Following federal mandate changes, masks are not required.

What's Provided: SOLVE will provide trash grabbers, trash bags, work gloves, and high-vis vests. 

Restrooms: There will not be a restroom at this location.

Parking: Free street parking is available.

Transit: The Green Line MAX train stops near this event. Get off at the SE Flavel Street stop and walk 8 minutes to meeting location.

Accessibility: This area will be easily accessible for folks with mobility concerns.

Youth Volunteers: This will be an 18 and older event due to the expected increased amounts of hazardous materials that we will find at this location.
