Orchard Summit Community Work Party
Join the Clackamas River Basin Council, North Clackamas Parks & Recreation, and SOLVE to restore the (soon to be) pristine Orchard Summit Natural Area!
This natural area, home to a variety of native flora and feathered friends, has become a spot for ner-do-wells to dump their unwanted waste and it's time to tackle the issue head-on!
PART I
We'll start on November 12th, removing as much garbage as we can (thanks NCPRD for cutting a pathway so we can safely access it!) along the roadway; installing "NO DUMPING" signs; and clearing away some of the blackberries that obstruct further access to the space and choke out native species.
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 pm
Location: Orchard Summit, Park on pull out on the south side of 212 between HWY 224 and SE 162nd Ave in Damascus, OR. Please click here for directions: HTTPS://GOO.GL/MAPS/
We will be working along uneven terrain and steep slopes to clear out trash before it reaches the creek. Dress for the weather, wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes, and bring a water bottle. Trash bags, tools, gloves, water, and snacks are provided.
This is a family-friendly event, youth are welcome if accompanied by an adult, though this activity is most appropriate for ages 10 and up!
Age Minimum (with Adult): 1+, Minimum Age:13+
