Willamette River Clean-up at Howard Buford Recreation Area / Mount Pisgah
Meet at Buford Park North Trailhead and Parking Lot. This is the gravel parking area closest to the river (equestrian parking lot), just on the left (North) after crossing the bridge over the Willamette, for our safety talk at 2:00. We will be picking up litter along the riverside, in the river, and along the riparian trails, from 2:00-4:00. Minimum age is 13 for individuals and 7 for those with an adult.
Please bring comfortable clothes, including shoes that you don't mind getting wet or muddy. Water shoes and bathing suits are a good idea for those who would like to pull litter from the river and very close to the edge of the river. Bring a water bottle, snack, sunscreen, hat, towel, insect repellant (if desired) and a change of dry clothes. We will have about 10 litter grabbers, which make the work easier on the spine, not having to bend over quite as much. If you have a litter grabber that you can bring, that would be helpful! Bags will be provided for the accumulated trash.
If you do not have a parking day pass for Lane County Parks, Buford Park or Mount Pisgah Arboretum, just show up at the parking area, sign the Lane County Parks and Rec Waiver, and we will provide a day pass!
Age Minimum (with Adult): 7+, Minimum Age:13+
