I-205 Multi-Use Cleanup w/ PDX Saints Love

Join SOLVE and PDX Saints Love for a cleanup in an Urgent Need area. SOLVE defines an Urgent Need cleanup as an area with a high concentration of litter that poses a threat to public safety and environmental quality due to the presence of hazardous materials. Safety guidelines will be covered before the event begins.

During this cleanup, you will work with SOLVE staff in small groups to clean up the trash in the area around Lents Park and the I-205 multi-use path. 

At this event, you may encounter or be exposed to the following elements:

• Close proximity to active unhoused communities.
• Close proximity to abandoned unhoused encampments.
• The presence of used hypodermic needles among the garbage.
• Other hazardous materials such as bio-waste.

When: Friday, June 17th, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM.
 
Meeting Location: Volunteers will be meeting in the parking lot in front of Walker Stadium.

What you'll need:

• Workboots recommended or sturdy shoes (no lightweight sneakers or open-toed footwear).
• Gear appropriate for the weather conditions (hat, sunscreen, insect repellant, rain gear, etc.)
• Water bottle/snacks

What's Provided: SOLVE will provide trash bags, trash pickers, work gloves, high-vis vests & disposal.

COVID Safety: Following federal mandate changes, masks are not required but still encouraged to keep our immunocompromised communities safe.

Parking/Getting There: Free street parking is available at this location.

Bathrooms: There may not be accessible restrooms, please plan accordingly.

Accessibility: This event will take place primarily on city streets and sidewalks that are paved.

Youth: This event is not recommended for anyone under 18.
