Clackamette Park Cleanup!
Join us on Thursday, October 22nd, as we clean up Clackamette Park! This event is part of the SOLVE Waterway Cleanup Series, in partnership with Clackamas Water Environment Services.
Clackamette Park lies at the confluence of the Willamette and Clackamas rivers in Oregon City. Across from the park, you will see Goat Island. The area is home to a blue heron rookery. Keep a lookout for osprey, cormorants, and bald eagles. The rivers are also home to migrating salmon and steelhead. We will be removing harmful litter from the park and shoreline, helping to keep our rivers, wildlife, and natural areas clean and healthy!
Thursday, October 22, 2020
Event check-in will run from 2:00 - 2:30 PM. Arrive anytime during this window. This will allow for a smaller crowd than checking in all at once. Once checked in, some volunteers may choose to head south toward Jon Storm Park, cleaning up as they walk. The event will run through 4:30 PM.
What to Bring:
All cleanup supplies will be provided, but please come wearing a face covering and closed-toe shoes, with a filled, reusable water bottle and sunscreen. If you have your own gloves, litter grabber, and litter bag or bucket, you are encouraged to bring those as well. Observe social distancing throughout the cleanup.
Volunteers will meet at: 1955 Clackamette Dr, Oregon City, OR 97045. Parking is available in the park. Look for the SOLVE signs to find the check-in table. MAP.
