82nd Drive Bridge to Clackamette Cove Cleanup
Join us on Thursday, September 24 as we clean up litter from the 82nd Drive Bridge to Clackamette Cove along the Clackamas River Trail! This event is part of the SOLVE Waterway Cleanup Series, in partnership with Clackamas Water Environment Services.
This cleanup will focus on the land and shoreline behind the Tri-City Water Resource Recovery Facility. The Clackamas River and Clackemette Cove are home to a variety of bird species, including blue heron, cormorant, bald eagles, and osprey. Salmon and steelhead populate the river as well as the nearby Willamette River. We will be removing harmful litter from the trail and shoreline, helping to keep our rivers, wildlife, and natural areas clean and healthy!

Event check-in will run from 9:00 - 9:30 AM. Arrive anytime during this window. This will allow for a smaller crowd than checking in all at once. Once checked in, volunteers will head in different directions to cover the trail, the 82nd Drive Bridge, Cross Park, and river access points along the Clackamas. The event will run through 12:00 PM.
What to Bring:
All cleanup supplies will be provided, but please come wearing a face covering and closed-toe shoes, with a filled, reusable water bottle and sunscreen. If you have your own gloves, litter grabber, and litter bag or bucket, you are encouraged to bring those as well. Observe social distancing throughout the cleanup.
Celebrating Watershed Health Art Project:
David Andersen, Clackamas Community College Art Faculty, will add an extra twist to this year’s cleanup with an art project focused on watershed health. All supplies and instruction will be offered following social distance guidelines. The art activity is designed for all ages.
Volunteers will meet at the river access parking lot at the corner of Washington St & S. Pope Ln. Parking is available here, with overflow parking at the Tri-City facility nearby if needed. Look for the SOLVE signs to find the check-in table. MAP.
