Central Eastside Industrial District - Pick It Up, Portland!
Join together with SOLVE and community members to clean up Tom McCall Waterfront Park and the surrounding city streets. Pick It Up, Portland! is a two-day, city-wide event presented by Pacific Power, focusing on litter removal throughout our community. This event is a litter cleanup and will not include graffiti removal. SOLVE also would like to give thanks to our partners at the Portland Business Alliance and the Portland Lodging Alliance. Help keep Portland clean and healthy to ensure it can be enjoyed by all!
When: Friday, June 25, 2021
Staggered Check-In: Event check-in will run from 8:45 AM to 9:30 AM. Arrive any time during this window. This will allow for a smaller crowd than checking in all at once. The event will run through 11:30 AM.
Advanced Registration Required: Pre-registration is required! Please sign up (green button below) ahead of time so you can sign our electronic waiver to help avoid crowding during check-in.
Meeting Location: Volunteers will be meeting in the parking lot of the Nova building, located at 1615 SE 3rd Ave, Portland OR. Look for SOLVE signs and a check-in table. MAP.
What's Provided: Heavy-duty garbage bags, litter grabbers, safety vests, and vinyl gloves are provided for all participants.
What to Bring: Please come wearing a face covering, closed-toed shoes, with a filled reusable water bottle. Feel free to bring the following items to help us reduce the number of disposable supplies we distribute: Garden or work gloves, litter grabber. Observe social distancing throughout the cleanup.
Parking: Paid street parking is available near the meeting location.
Bathrooms: There will be no public restrooms available during this event. Please plan accordingly.
Accessibility: The check-in location will be in an area that is wheelchair accessible. The majority of the cleanup area is on city sidewalks that are wheelchair accessible.
Youth Volunteers: Youth are welcome if accompanied by an attentive adult. Youth volunteers ages 14-17 can come without their guardian if their guardian prints and signs a youth waiver form and the youth volunteer brings it with them. Find the link to youth waiver form here. Youth Waiver Form
