Litter Cleanup

Age Minimum (with Adult): 1+, Minimum Age:15+

Convention Center / Moda Center / Rose Quarter Cleanup Event


Join us Saturday April 17th from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm for a neighborhood trash cleanup event around the Convention Center and Moda Center  in the Portland Rose Quarter. We need amazing volunteers to help pick up litter and keep our city streets clean! Together we can accomplish great things. We look forward to seeing you there!  

Time: Thursday Saturday April 17th, 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Pre Registration is Required: Due to COVID restrictions, we will only be opening the event to a limited number of volunteers. If you would like to participate please sign up (Green Sign Up Button Below) quickly before spots run out. 

Where to Meet: We will meet at the
 Oregon Convention Center Plaza on NE Grand and NE Oregon Street and then branch out to pick up litter in the surrounding areas.

Staggered Check In: Event check in will run from 9:00 - 9:30am. Arrive any time during this window. This will allow for a smaller crowd than checking in all at once. The event will end at 12:00 pm.

Getting There/ Parking: Walking/biking/taking Trimet to the event is encouraged. Paid parking and free parking is available on side streets in the area.

What's Provided: Heavy-duty garbage bags, litter grabbers, high-vis vests, and vinyl gloves are provided to all participants that need them. 

What to Bring: All volunteers must wear a MASK! Please also come wearing comfortable closed-toed shoes and your own pair of work gloves if you have them. Please also dress for the weather.

COVID Safety: Wear a face covering. Observe social distancing throughout the cleanup. Children are welcome but must be accompanied by an attentive adult.

Restrooms: There may be public restrooms available at nearby stores and in the Convention center. Please plan accordingly. 

Accessibility: The check-in area is in a place that is wheelchair accessible. Most of the cleanup work will take place on city sidewalks that are wheelchair accessible. Please reach out if you have any questions or a need for accommodations. We will do our best to support you.

Youth Volunteers:  Children are welcome if accompanied by an attentive adult. Youth volunteers ages 13-17 will have to have their guardian sign a separate youth waiver form if they are attending a SOLVE event without a guardian. Find the link to the youth waiver form here.
