Litter Cleanup

Age Minimum (with Adult): 1+, Minimum Age:15+

Earth Day Centennial Neighborhood Cleanup

 


Come together with the Centennial Neighborhood Cleanup Group and community members for an Earth Day cleanup in the Centennial Neighborhood! We will be starting at Parklane Reformed church next to Parklane Elementary School on SE 160th and Main. This event will be entirely outdoors and will comply with social distancing guidelines. After a safety talk and getting cleanup supplies, we will spend a couple of hours picking up litter in the neighborhood to improve our community and protect our ecosystem. Join us and help give back this Earth Day!


When: Saturday April 24th, 9:00am - 12:00 pm

Staggered Check In: To avoid a crowd at check in, arrive anytime between 9:00 - 9:30 am for check in. Event will run until noon.

Where: We will meet at the 
Parklane Reformed church next to Parklane Elementary School at 16001 SE Main St, Portland, OR 97233. MAP LINK.
 
Getting There/ Parking: Walking/biking/taking Trimet to the event is encouraged. Free parking is available on the street, in front of the church and school.

What's Provided: Heavy-duty garbage bags, litter grabbers, and vinyl gloves are provided to all participants that need them.

What to Bring: Please come wearing closed-toed shoes and bring a filled reusable water bottle. If you have your own gloves, litter grabber, litter bag or bucket, you are encouraged to bring those as well.

Advanced Registration: Pre-registration is required! Please sign up (Green Button Below) ahead of time so we know how many volunteers to expect, and to fill out the volunteer waiver form.

COVID Safety: Wear a face covering. Observe social distancing throughout the cleanup. Children are welcome but must be accompanied by an attentive adult. 

Restrooms: There is not public restroom at the park, so please plan accordingly.


Youth Volunteers:  Children are welcome if accompanied by an attentive adult. Youth volunteers ages 13-17 can also create their own SOLVE account online. A youth volunteer can attend without their guardian if they print out and bring a signed youth waiver form. Find the link to the youth waiver form here.
