Audrey McCall Beach Cleanup!
Join together with the Human Access Project, the Central Eastside Industrial Council and community members to clean up Audrey McCall beach on the Willamette River. Volunteers will gather at Audrey McCall Beach to check-in, get litter gear and then head out to pick up trash. Families are welcome to attend. Let’s come together and make a real impact for the river and the community!
Pre Registration is Required: This event is by pre-registration only. If you would like to participate please sign up (Green Sign Up Button Below) before spots run out.
Date: Thursday, April 1st
Time: 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Meeting Location: Meet at Audrey McCall Beach, which is next to Station 21 Fire House located at 5 SE Madison St. Portland. Look for a check-in station. MAP LINK
What’s Provided: We will provide all volunteers with trash grabbers, trash bags, and works gloves.
What to Bring: All volunteers must wear a MASK! Please also come wearing comfortable closed-toed shoes and your own pair of work gloves if you have them. We recommend bringing a filled reusable water bottle and if you are bringing anything else pack them in a backpack to keep your hands-free during events. Please also dress for the weather.
Parking: Take public transit if possible. Some parking is available in the nearby business district or in downtown Portland across the river.
Bathrooms: There are no public restrooms at this location. Please plan accordingly.
Accessibility: The check-in area is in a place that is wheelchair accessible. Much of the cleanup work will take place on a beach that is not ADA accessible. A person could check-in and collect litter along the Esplanade and nearby city streets, which are accessible, although they would be working away from the group. Please reach out if you have any questions or a need for accommodations. We will do our best to support you.
Youth Volunteers: Children are welcome if accompanied by an attentive adult. Youth volunteers ages 14-17 will have to have their guardians sign a separate youth waiver form if they are attending a SOLVE event without a guardian. Find the link to youth waiver form here.
