Litter Cleanup
Age Minimum (with Adult): 1+, Minimum Age:16+
Marine Drive Multi-Use Path Litter Cleanup & Bird Walk (Se habla español)
Let's come together to take care of this well loved multi-use path and watch the birds while we remove harmful litter from the habitat. Volunteers will gather at the Smith & Bybee Lakes refuge, Interlake Parking Area and have a safety talk before heading out for the cleanup. Families are welcome to attend. A SOLVE staff member will be onsite the whole time, assisting in the cleanup and helping to point out the incredible bird life that call the Columbia Slough home.
When: Sat, January 16th, 2020 from 10:30am - 1:00pm
Advanced Registration: Pre-registration is required! Please sign up (Green Button Below) ahead of time so we know how many volunteers to expect and to fill out the volunteer waiver form.
Meeting Location: Volunteers will be meeting at Smith & Bybee Lakes refuge, Interlake Parking Area at the bathroom/ picnic shelter. MAP.
What's Provided: Heavy-duty garbage bags, litter grabbers and vinyl gloves are provided to all participants that need them.
What to Bring: Please come wearing closed-toed shoes, with a filled reusable water bottle, a backpack, snack, and enough clothes to stay warm and dry. All cleanup supplies will be provided by SOLVE. Feel free to bring the following items to help us reduce the number of disposable supplies we distribute: reusable bag or 5-gallon bucket, garden or work gloves, litter grabber.
Restrooms: Public restrooms will not be available during this event. Please plan accordingly.
Accessibility: The check in location will be located in an area that is wheelchair accessible. The majority of the work area for the cleanup will be on city streets and sidewalks that are wheelchair accessible.
Parking: Free parking.
