CANCELED: Newport Pier Marine Debris Cleanup

True Wildlife is excited to announce the first-ever dive cleanup in Newport! The Newport Public Fishing Pier offers fun activities for tourists and locals alike. Years of fishing, crabbing, and other human activities have left the pier cluttered with marine debris which is harmful to the environment and the species that inhabit it. It is our vision to rally the community and remove this debris.

If you are a certified diver or free diver and would like to show immense stewardship of our oceans, then come dive with us! If you are not a diver, we could use your help pulling up crab traps and debris from the divers and moving it to the sorting station.

Divers should bring their own equipment or rental dive equipment can be arranged with Albany Scuba prior to the event. Tanks and air will be provided to those who need it.

Please dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes and bring your filled reusable water bottle. Coffee and water will be provided.

Be a part of the first land and sea cleanup of its kind in our area and join us in the fight against marine debris!

For event questions, please contact Clint at clint@truewildlife.org or 541 974 5528.
