Volunteer Training: Become a SOLVE Ambassador
SOLVE is looking for energized community members to help spread our message of environmental preservation and volunteer action. For over fifty years, SOLVE has been Oregon’s non-profit champion for inland litter cleanups, beach cleanups, invasive species removal, and native tree and shrub plantings. SOLVE needs your help to raise awareness of the environmental issue’s society is currently facing (plastic pollution, invasive plant species, and more) and let community members know they can help by volunteering. During this training SOLVE staff will train volunteers to become SOLVE Ambassadors. The role of a SOLVE Ambassador includes: • Represent SOLVE at community events, fairs, and festivals and distribute information on SOLVE volunteer opportunities, programs, and donor information. • Provide logistical assistance during special events, such as helping to set up and break down supplies, greet and make attendees feel welcome, assist with check-in and other staffing needs. • Cultivate relationships with third parties such as community organizers, universities, and businesses. This training will ensure that anyone who is interested in becoming a SOLVE Ambassador will feel comfortable and confident in doing so. We will review SOLVE’s history, programs, and learn the ways volunteers can get involved. After the training, you will have the opportunity to sign up to be on the SOLVE Ambassador team. Once you have signed up, you are required to attend at least two Ambassador events during the year (we welcome Ambassador’s to sign up for more!). SOLVE Ambassador’s will also receive a SOLVE T-Shirt to wear at events. Join SOLVE to help spread awareness of how we can keep Oregon clean and healthy!
