Multnomah Channel Cleanup (Sauvie Island)
4th annual event to clean the banks and water ways of the Multnomah Channel of trash, debris, tires, styrofoam etc. Two sites, Johnson's Landing and Sauvie Island. There will be human powered water crafts (kayaks, waterbikes, canoes etc), barges to collect trash from the water crafts and bring to Johnson's Landing. There will also be an on-land cleanup option if you don't have a boat--you'll be walking along and working in a wet, mucky bank, so wear appropriate footwear. All youth must be accompanied by an adult. Please dress for the weather, wear boots, and bring a reusable water bottle and reuseable gloves (if you don't want to use the vinyl gloves that SOLVE supplies). There will be folks at Johnson's Landing to separate the trash from the recyclables. And, as usual a potluck afterward. Event is planned on September 14th, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. with potluck at 4 p.m.
Hoping this year to get as many moorages in the channel as we can and have them clean up their area and bring trash to Johnson's Landing.
