We at SOLVE, have taken time to reflect on the challenging and traumatic events of the past few weeks, and how we can support Black communities in Oregon. We have a lot of work to do. As anti-racism requires collective action, we vow to listen, learn, and adopt best practices, both internally and externally, to improve engagement opportunities that are accessible and rewarding to all.

Gold Beach Cleanup

Join SOLVE at the Gold Beach Visitor Center from 10 AM – 1 PM for the annual spring Gold Beach cleanup! Community members and volunteers can stop by anytime during this timeframe to pick up a bag and clean up the beach. Whether you clean for 10 minutes or three hours, you'll be making a huge difference for our beaches!
This event is part of the annual Beach & Riverside Cleanup, in partnership with the Oregon Lottery, and the International Coastal Cleanup, a world-wide effort to keep our beaches healthy.
Help us protect marine life and maintain the beauty of our coast. Be prepared by dressing for any weather and wearing sturdy shoes. You are encouraged to bring your own reusable bucket/bag, gloves, and water bottle to help reduce plastic waste. If you happen to forget, SOLVE will provide bags and gloves. Don’t forget about the small stuff! The most commonly found items of trash found on Oregon beaches are tiny bits of plastic and cigarette butts, which can be harmful to shore birds and marine life. Bring an old colander to sift the sand for these items. This beach cleanup is family-friendly, and volunteers of all ages will find the event fun and rewarding.
Please remember our ocean shores can be dangerous. Avoid logs in the water and marine mammals, and never turn your back on the ocean! Please keep dogs on a leash. If you find any hazardous material, please alert your Beach Captain.
Hauling, disposal and recycling services donated by Curry Transfer and Recycling.
Tacos! Two free tacos will be provided to each volunteer after the cleanup courtesy of South Yo Mouth.
Meet at the Gold Beach Visitor Center.
From Hwy 101, turn west onto Shirley Lane (Right if you are coming from the North). The Visitor Center will be on the right. Park at the Gold Beach Visitor Center and check-in. After checking in and/or registering, volunteers can clean the beach next to the Visitor Center, up Pistol River, Meyers Creek, Kissing Rock-Hunter Creek, South Jetty and North Jetty of Gold Beach.
