Let's Pull Together - Save our Grand Oaks!
Come help us save some beautiful large oaks and other native shrubs from a 'green tsunami' of ivy and other invasives.
This is our first ever event- join other neighborhood volunteers to help begin restoration of several small natural areas within the Grand Oaks neighborhood. Our plan is to remove choking weedy ground cover, shrubs and saplings, and encourage recovery of native oak woodland plants.
Please bring your own pruners, loppers, pruning saws and gloves if you have them.
Event is co-hosted by the Grand Oaks Summit Homeowners Association and Benton County Cooperative Weed Management Area Members: Benton County Soil and Water Conservation District, City of Corvallis.
Poison oak is present, please dress for the weather (cold and rain possible). Wear long sleeved shirt and pants (to avoid skin contact with poison oak) and sturdy, closed-toe shoes with socks.
Recommended for ages 13+. All volunteers under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
Meet at the Grand Oaks Clubhouse, 6050 SW Grand Oaks Dr. Corvallis, OR - map
