Day 1:

Welcome to Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest, home to some of Oregon’s largest trees.

Get inspired to learn a thing or two about the trees by watching this short video by SOLVE’s very own naturalist, Dan Daly.

Then, go on a walk in your neighborhood and start exploring. Only take a walk if you feel healthy enough to do so and please practice social distancing with anyone who isn't within your household. Also, please stay away from public parks or any place that people are congregating.

On your walk, take pictures of the trees you see, with a close-up of their leaf structure. When you get back home, you can use the pictures in conjunction with Oregon State’s Dichotomous Key to identify what tree species you saw.

Enjoy studying the tree canopy, what a tree-t! 😊
