Gold Beach Cleanup

Join SOLVE at the Gold Beach Visitor Center from 10 AM – 1 PM for the annual Gold Beach cleanup! Community members and volunteers can stop by anytime during this timeframe to pick up a bag and clean up the beach. Whether you clean for 10 minutes or three hours, you'll be making a huge difference for our beaches! This event is part of the annual Beach & Riverside Cleanup and the International Coastal Cleanup, a world-wide effort to keep our beaches healthy and reduce the impacts to marine life. Dress for rain or shine and wear sturdy shoes. SOLVE will provide bags and gloves. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own reusable bucket/bag and water bottle to help reduce plastic waste. Don’t forget about the small stuff! The #1 items found on Oregon beaches are tiny bits of plastic and cigarette butts, which are harmful to shore birds and marine life. Bring an old colander to sift the sand for these items. Please remember our ocean shores can be dangerous. Avoid logs in the water and marine mammals, and never turn your back on the ocean! If you find any hazardous material, please alert your Beach Captain. Hauling, disposal and recycling services donated by Curry Transfer and Recycling.
