Cannon Beach City Hall Cleanup

Join SOLVE and Pacific Alarms Systems at the Cannon Beach City Hall beach cleanup from 10 AM – 1 PM! This event is part of the annual Beach & Riverside Cleanup and the International Coastal Cleanup, a world-wide effort to keep our beaches healthy and reduce the impacts to marine life. Dress for rain or shine and wear sturdy shoes. SOLVE will provide bags and gloves. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own reusable bucket/bag and water bottle to help reduce plastic waste. Don’t forget about the small stuff! The #1 items found on Oregon beaches are tiny bits of plastic and cigarette butts, which are harmful to shore birds and marine life. Bring an old colander or kitty litter scoop to sift the sand for these items. Please remember our ocean shores can be dangerous. Avoid logs in the water and marine mammals, and never turn your back on the ocean! If you find any hazardous material, please alert your Beach Captain. Hauling, disposal and recycling services donated by Recology Western Oregon (formerly Western Oregon Waste). Recycling will be provided by the Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative. Volunteers at this site are eligible for a 15% discount at the Tolovana Inn on Friday night (9/23) or Saturday night (9/24). Please call the Inn directly to make reservations, make sure to mention you are a SOLVE Beach Cleanup Volunteer - #800-333-8890
