Cannon Beach City Hall Cleanup

Join SOLVE and Pacific Alarms Systems at the Cannon Beach City Hall beach cleanup from 10 AM – 1 PM! Please note that this site is very popular and has over 300 volunteers pre-registered. If you would like a beach with less volunteers and more to do, consider registering at Sunset Beach a few miles north, or at less popluar check ins on the central or southern coast. This event is part of the annual Spring Oregon Beach Cleanup, a statewide effort to keep our beaches healthy and reduce the impacts to marine life. Dress for rain or shine and wear sturdy shoes. SOLVE will provide bags and gloves. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own reusable bucket/bag and water bottle to help reduce plastic waste. Don’t forget about the small stuff! The #1 items found on Oregon beaches are tiny bits of plastic and cigarette butts, which are harmful to shore birds and marine life. Bring an old colander to sift the sand for these items. Please remember our ocean shores can be dangerous. Avoid logs in the water and marine mammals, and never turn your back on the ocean! Please keep dogs on a leash and steer clear of roped off Snowy Plover nesting areas. If you find any hazardous material, please alert your Beach Captain. Hauling, disposal and recycling services donated by Recology Western Oregon. Additional recycling will be provided by the Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative.
